Prisoner in the Snow
The oldest limped.
“Grandfather,” said the guard, “Tell me which leg is worse. I can make it better.”
He finally chose, “The right.”
The guard’s shot smashed his left and dashed him into the snow.
“See? Now the right’s the better.”
They shuffled off, leaving the still moving bundle.
